About

Hello there! I'm Amber Hamilton, Creator and Owner of Moemodern. I have been helping family and friends for years decide on the colors they should paint their homes and what design style is best suited for them. Design is something that I am passionate about and have enjoyed since I was a teenager. I am constantly staying up-to-date on the latest color and design trends and frequently binge HGTV shows for inspiration.

I do not have a degree or formal training in interior design.

Moemodern was officially created in April 2018.

1. I have been obsessed with drawing and creating art for as long as I can remember. I took many art classes through school, at my local Michael's, and in college. My favorite mediums are charcoal, pastels, and oil paint.

2.I'm a Carolina girl, born and raised!

3. I originally decided to major in interior design and was accepted into several programs in North Carolina. However, I decided to completely switch gears and studied business management instead.

4. I competed in Scottish highland dancing and Scottish fiddling throughout middle school and high school.  I was also a member of a bagpipe band, The Occoneechee Highlanders in Cary, NC.

5. I have an incredibly boisterous laugh. It is often how people know I have arrived at a social gathering. 

6. I spent a little over a year working as an Administrative Assistant to the Interior Design Department at an Architecture firm downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

7. I love to bake! I can bake a mean chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting.

8. Classic rock is my favorite music genre.

9. I enjoy watching reruns of Seinfeld, The Office, Parks and Rec, Stranger Things, This is Us,  a good murder mystery, and of course every show on HGTV.

10.  I love decorating with unique patterns and color combos.
